چکیده

Aim: The aim of the study is to investigate levels and risks associated with heavy metals in soil samples collected during dry wet seasons around metal scrap recycling areas Ogijo, Ogun State.
Study Design: were randomly within industries communities vicinity (SMRI) analyzed XRF.
Place Duration Study: was carried out Ogijo Sagamu Local Government Area, State, located Southwestern Nigeria. (5th 7th March 24th 25th September 2020 respectively.
Methodology: Soil SMR randomly, dried, then sieved through a 2mm mesh stainless sieve. sample for concentration by using S2 Ranger, Bruker UKX-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy techniques (XRF).
Results: results showed that range concentrations season were: Fe (40100 - 87300 mg/kg); Mn (400 3500 Zn (600 -1300 Pb 1000 mg/kg) season: (26100 -82700); (500- 4200) mg/kg. – 1300) mg/kg; only detected S3 (600mg/kg). found exceed WHO permissible limits metals. Contamination index, degree contamination, pollution load indices indicated slight contamination excessive pollution, very high risk extremely polluted soils respectively. geo-accumulation index uncontaminated moderate (0<Igeo≤1) different at locations not all (except S1) extreme (Igeo≥5).Heavy enrichment both ranged from background rank (EF ≤ 1) enrichment. Eri values low (Eri) <40) ecological (Eri > 80) (RI <150). cumulative non-carcinogenic, health (HI) ingestion dermal above 1 indicating non carcinogenic concerns residents as they recorded higher values. CRI far acceptable limit S9 have probability contracting cancer life time 70 years.
Conclusion: show quality entirely deteriorated respect DPR background. This indicates could be used any agricultural or domestic purposes.
